PowerPlan is looking for a Lead Solution Engineer who will work with clients and prospects in North America to understand their business objectives, priorities, challenges and processes to develop solution recommendations, software demonstrations, and client value propositions. The position will

 

Responsibilities include leading client discovery activities, configuring and leading software demonstrations, delivering executive presentations, developing project business cases, acting as a SME for PowerPlan solutions, and supporting proposal creation. You will partner with our Strategic Account Executives as the “face” of PowerPlan at prospective customers and play a critical role in gathering requirements and presenting recommendations for initiatives that are vital for the future growth of our company.

 

We are looking for a roll-up-the-sleeves person who can operate tactically to drive requirements gathering and to build the solution, while also thinking strategically to bring prospects a vision of their future state with PowerPlan solutions.  This person must have strong passion and an inquisitive spirit, while also being able to quickly build credibility and differentiate our solutions. This position will have visibility and interaction with the most senior leaders at clients and within PowerPlan.

 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Deliver Solution Demonstration: Within the first 3 months, be able to independently create and deliver a working software demonstration with a corresponding PowerPoint presentation. Also be able to differentiate PowerPlan from its competitors and field in-depth functional and technical questions. Understand and communicate functional and technical aspects of the software and our roadmap for future solutions; effectively communicate the existing and future approaches including standard integration with financial (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JDE, Workday, Lawson – at a minimum) and operational (SAP, Maximo, Logica, Ventex, Esri, Storms – at a minimum) systems.
  1. Lead Discovery Sessions: Lead interviews and facilitate workshops to understand client objectives, pain points and priorities. Determine if we have a working solution that meets their needs. Understand and articulate the value drivers for PowerPlan’s suite of products. Produce current state process maps and document goals, challenges, priorities as an outcome of sessions.
  1. Deliver Executive Level Presentations & Build a Business Case: Present to executives and key team members, working collaboratively with the client along the way to confirm message, positioning and value. Within the first 6 months, be able to calculate and defend the operational impact, cost, and transformative value of a proposed solution.
  1. Collaborate with Strategic Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Product Management and Industry Experts: Collaborate across the deal team to determine ongoing opportunity strategy throughout the life of the deal and prepare for each client touch point. Provide customer and prospect research in support of winning deal pursuits.
  1. Support Marketing & Thought Leadership activities: Collaborate with marketing and contribute solution knowledge and expertise for campaigns, collateral, white papers, presentations, webinars and other related activities and events.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years experience in working with accounting ortax personas, specifically in energy industry.
  • 3+ years experience in presales for enterprise software solutions.
  • Able to facilitate client interviews and executive discussions
  • Able to professionally articulate and relate solution capabilities and value to client’s business environment
  • Able to configure and deliver effective software demonstrations
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and follow up on commitments (e.g. next day turnaround)
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively in
  • Able to work well with a remote team
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Ad hoc travel up to 60%

 

Preferred

 

  • Experience in the sales or customer delivery of solutions that focus on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
  • Knowledge of the PowerPlan products, competitors, and systems landscape
