Overview

The HR Generalist (Operations) plays a critical role in ensuring smooth HR operations by managing key human resources functions including, daily operations, key administrative processes, supporting HR systems, and providing data-driven insights. This role focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous process improvement to enhance the employee experience and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Key Performance Objectives

  1. HR Operations & Process Management: Within the first 30 days, gain full proficiency in UKG and operational workflows. By 60 days, independently manage routine HR processes, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding, ensuring a 100% compliance rate with policies and labor laws. Continuously identify process inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  1. Data Management & Reporting: Ensure 99% data accuracy in employee records, HRIS entries, and reports by performing routine audits and corrections. Create and deliver monthly HR analytics reports on workforce trends, turnover, and operational KPIs to leadership. Automate recurring HR reports to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  1. Employee Support & Service Excellence: Respond to employee inquiries related to HR operations within 24 hours, ensuring a 95% resolution rate on first contact.
  1. Compliance & Policy Adherence: Ensure 100% compliance with all company policies and employment laws by managing HR documentation, audits, and process adherence. By the end of the first 90 days, develop a compliance tracking system to monitor document expirations, policy acknowledgments, and training completions. Conduct at least one internal audit per quarter to proactively identify and address potential compliance risks.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Special Projects: Support at least one HR initiative per quarter, such as system upgrades, benefits enrollment, or engagement programs. Collaborate with payroll, IT, and finance teams to ensure seamless HR operations and resolve cross-functional issues within 48 hours of escalation. Assist in the successful execution of at least two HR projects annually that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Competencies:

HR Operations & Process Management

  • Strong understanding of HR workflows, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.
  • Ability to manage and streamline HR processes to improve efficiency. 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Experience handling employee data, HR metrics, and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to analyze HR trends and generate reports that drive decision-making.

Systems & Technology Proficiency

  • Hands-on experience with any HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP, UKG, ADP, Oracle, BambooHR).
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) for HR case management is a plus.

Employee Support & Communication

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to provide clear guidance on HR policies and resolve inquiries efficiently.

Compliance & Attention to Detail

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure 99%+ accuracy in HR data and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies while ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HR system or data issues and work with IT or HRIS teams to resolve them.

Project & Time Management

  • Ability to manage multiple HR tasks simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting HR projects, such as system implementations or policy rollouts.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

  • HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Familiarity with HR shared services models or global HR operations.
