Overview

The Technical Architect will help direct a team of 10-13 off-shore resources, although they may not be the person supervising their day-to-day activities. The Technical Architect is responsible for the on time delivery of software as well as the long-term development and performance of their team. 

Responsibilities

Key Performance Objective

  1. Successfully create technical designs from business requirements.  Within the first 30 days learn our software and solutions, business objectives and technical framework that exists today. Within 60 days be able to produce technical designs and 90 days out collaborate with team to meet business objectives. To do this, look at the business requirements and design a technical solutions, data models and data architecture to support the requirements. In addition, create a detailed design to enable off-shore development adoption. 
  2. Successfully execute on the designs by enabling the Developers and QA team with the appropriate tools.  Clearly identify and execute on the vision which matches the outlined design. To do this, conduct a design signoff session with the team to ensure a productive work environment which includes key documentation, tools to do the job, were to document, what to test and where to test
  3. Establish milestones, estimates and timelines:  Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Managers to identify and establish risk or issues that may arise from the design of the business requirements. Communicate delays or anticipated roadblocks that may impact the design and determine an agreeable solution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science
  • 10 + years work experience in similar position or having equivalent kind of skills experience; with history of increasing responsibility or upward progression
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision on assigned functions
  • Process orientation, and ability to analyze and design/build complex processes
  • Experience with key enterprise applications, including ERP and EAM
  • Demonstrate the following bodies of knowledge.
    • Technical knowledge: Understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, system access, database design, SQL queries, and network protocols
    • Product knowledge: Insight into how PowerPlan’s products work. This includes having information about its application, func tion, features, use and support services.
    • Industry and Domain knowledge: Ability to apply industry knowledge in an area of domain specialty. Examples of domains are accounting, tax and budgeting.
  • Excellent, effective communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Project and/or team leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience working on or with capital projects, capital budgets and fixed asset accounting, or business tax software
  • Experience running and delivering enterprise level software applications/solutions, including ERP and EAM
