Overview

We're looking for a Quality Engineer to own the gatekeeping role for PowerPlan's product releases, with real autonomy over how functional, regression, and performance testing get run so your sign-off carries real weight. You'll take the lead on growing the automation framework the whole team relies on, bringing in tools like Playwright, K6, and data simulation to keep it ahead of where the product is headed, while building real depth in PowerPlan's asset accounting and tax domain along the way.

You'll do this as a trusted, hands-on member of a close-knit delivery team that leans on collaboration, not solo firefighting, to keep quality high.

Responsibilities

Success will be measured by how quickly you earn independent release sign-off, how much the automation framework grows under your ownership, and by how many cross-team roadblocks you catch and clear before they threaten a release.

  • Get up to speed on the current test environments and release process, and build toward independent release sign-off on at least part of the product by the end of your first quarter.
  • Expand the automation framework with new functions and reusable components, building automated test cases in tools like Selenium, and deliver at least one new function or component within your first quarter.
  • Go deeper with Playwright and K6, build out data simulation for test data, and scope how MCPs or testing agents could push the framework further.
  • Build a repeatable readiness check for test data, environment, and configuration needs, and flag and drive resolution of cross-team roadblocks yourself before they threaten a release.
  • Build and maintain automated tests across the full stack — Java/.NET, databases, and API/web-service layers — so nothing slips through.
  • Ramp up fast on PowerPlan's asset accounting and tax domain so your testing catches business-logic problems a purely technical check would miss.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Accounting, a technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong hands-on automated testing skills, building and maintaining test cases in tools like Selenium.
  • Solid technical range across programming (Java/.NET), relational databases, and API/web-service testing.
  • Experience implementing test scripts within a CI/CD pipeline and using test management tools like qTest or Jira.
  • The judgment to solve ambiguous quality problems with few guidelines rather than needing a fully defined test plan.
  • Comfort picking up modern tooling like Playwright, K6, and data simulation, and curiosity about emerging tools like MCPs or testing agents.
  • Enough finance/accounting domain curiosity to grow quickly into deep PowerPlan product expertise.

Preferred

  • ISTQB or similar certification.
  • Exposure to ERP/EAM/CRM/Maximo systems.
